National Institutes of Health renewed funding for developing strong biomimetic adhesive

April 1, 2016

Our lab successfully renewed a research project funded by the National Institutes of Health for another three years. This project aims to optimize the performance of biomimetic bioadhesive for improved adhesive strength, bioactivity and degradation. The long term goal of this project is to develop tissue adhesives with strong adhesive strength and biomechanical properties matching those of native tissue to repair tissues that routinely experience large, repeated loads (e.g., tendon). Dr. Ray Vanderby of University of Wisconsin-Madison will serve as a consultant for this project.
